Let me start by saying, this map is quite good. Besides some weak points, it's a great old city style map. Reminded me of DM-Gothic a little, but you can't beat this classic, it's too good. I really like those types, too bad I haven't seen much these days.
I must say that the big statue is pretty good, first time i've seen one of those. The theme is kind of unique, it's a symetric map. I never saw this before in a DM map. The flow is pretty good. At first, it's a real maze, but once you mastered it ... well, you rock!! Most of the rooms have a lot of ways to come in. You better cover your back!
The textures are great and so is the architecture. It's simply too good!. Nick certainly knows how to build a map. I was walking around just to admire the walls, pilars and all this stuff. I only saw one or two misaligned polygons, but, then again, i'm a real bug magniac and I always like to find some bugs
The lighting is really good, there's a couple of dark hallways that are very tactical. The sounds is, what can I say ... average. Water, Wind, you get the idea.
The item placement is okay but, unfortunatly, there's one room with over 20 health vial rounded up. It's too easy to pick them up. That's not the worst, a Enhanced Shock Rifle is waiting for you right in the middle of them. Also, since it's a symetric map, on the other side there's also one room with health vials but the Super Shock Rifle was changed for a Pulse Rifle.
Bots knows there way around, that's why you should start by knowing yours, or else... you know what's gonna happen. They use most of the tactical avantages they could use. The playability is good "since I have a P3 450mhz :)", the FPS is average. Because it has a good architecture the polycount is higher then normal but there are no big arena style rooms so you won't have too much trouble playing it.
Well, what can I say more, it's a good map, I liked it, maybe you will. It's worth the try. |

The colors are rich and varied and the map has good flow, though some of the corridors are quite cramped and spam-happy.Like the review says, the circle of health vials with the enhanced shock rifle and a shield belt lying nearby is a huge unbalancer.
