Hey!, give me back my socks!
Even with my Motocross boots firmly laced, buckled and Velcoed tight, this map kncked my socks off and gave my Odor-Eaters a work over.
While the architecture and texture use is somewhat repetitive, DM-Firimar has great conectivity and what first appeared as skimpy Item placement, just enough of the right stuff to do your thing just in time for smaller player loads. With weapons stay off, constant movement is encouraged and smart Item placement offsets the cut-n-paste architecture. Texture transistions suffer in the outer ramp areas and the lighting, dispite the open roofs and generous windows, is under sourced.
So what is theis map like? Looking at the screen shot covers most of what you will see. Mainly a conservative use of the Shane's Church texture set with repeating tapered columns that mirror below the cut out wood floor and the low clearance archways between major areas makes up the body of the map. More wood planks construct the afore mentioned outer rampways, and a few more platforms thrown in the corners to support the choicer pick-ups. I won't mention the details of the secret to the map, but the secret to winning will be being a proficient scavenger and constantly looking over your shoulder for a new pair of socks to liberate. This should be easy as the frame rates maintain a high foot wear shedding velocity. |

| Lophead | Rating: 5.5 | | I bit too turd, repetive, ugly, and boring for me but solid in an average sense.
| Nemesis | Rating: 7.5 | | Good map, good flow. Great Z-axis with all of those columns. Wish there was a larger central opening between the 2 floors like DM-Aisha. Would have improved the flow so much more. Bots play well except for one thing, they kill themselves too often. Huh??

| Sir Xavius 11-09-2005 02:21 PM MST | Rating: 4.5 | | You won't get your socks knocked off — it's plain, it's simple, but it's nice and airy with columns to hide behind. You can have fun game with about 8 or 12, but at 16 or 20, you'll be dodging other people's fire more than your target's.
