That's the style of map that I like; well designed with performances and lots of fun. This map has it all.
The idea of the lava pit is great, 2 doors, 2 triggers and the pit. If you try to go inside to get the damage amplifier when there someone near one trigger, he'll have the pleasure to push and see you fall and burn.
Good graphics in a map is really important, some mapper forget that, but Richard didn't. The architecture is like an Epic map. He must had putted a lot of time on this map. The redeemer room is incredible, that's the firts time I saw that kind of architecture. The textures aren't as great as the rest of the environment of the map. I saw lots of misaligned textures, it's not a big problem but it kind of screw up the amazing graphics.
I loved the item placement, the flak cannon is really hard to get unless you want to burn, if you know what I mean. The bots didn't do well, I saw 2 or 3 areas that bots tends to stay there. They won't come out of this place unless they die. If nobody kills them, they won't even be on the score!
One other thing that matters a lot in a map is the playability. In this case, it's amazing. I never saw a time when the frame per second got below 25. Iwas impressed since the architectures is quite good, well... so is the performance. You won'T have any trouble running this map.
I had lots of fun playing this map, you should all try it. It's really good. |
