DM-FinalSiege has a rather unique attraction in the form of a conveyor belt , which leads to a grinding machine of sorts - just like in the movies or cartoons . The belt is enclosed in unbreakable glass and can be fallen in through an opening somewhere above . Once fallen in though , there's no way of escaping death which comes in two flavours :
  • vanilla - being carried towards the grinder when the belt is activated and , well , you can guess the outcome

  • chocolate! - whereby you get smacked by an invisible pane of glass much like a sandwich :)

However , I find the premise not very well implemented albeit pretty interesting . Not many bots venture close to the trapdoor and for the 20+ games I've had so far , I've only seen 3 deaths . Hmmm ... maybe it's just me who loves gore ! Anyway , the bots seem to feature more in the other half of the map which comprise of symmetrical maze-like corridors . It is this area which I find myself gravitating towards because the action here is thick and furious , just the way I like it !

Simply put , this particular area is just a hexagon with a cross in the middle but somehow manages to convey a very effective flow to the map . This is especially bolstered by carefully planned weapon and item placements ; with the Ripper , Minigun , Biorifle , Shock Rifle and Pulse Rifle on the outer edges of the hexagon - perfect for those blind-corner encounters and when patrolling the corridors . The more powerful Flak Cannon is however thoughtfully left out in a linked small room .

Connectivity is good in this map ; one doesn't have to run for long in this map ( I played it 6 on 6 ) to look for battles , and you can't really get lost in this one . There is also a bridge and teleporters which work in a pretty cool manner , like worm tunnels i would say ... linking the warehouse area ( with the conveyor belt ) to the corridors i mentioned earlier . On a personal note though , i don't really like a particular dead-end which is caused by a lift which can only be ridden from above . Other than that , everything else in the map is great . Graphics are alright with no anomalies , but I am kept on my toes for the entire duration of the match to notice much . I do fancy the dimly-lit corridors though ... when illumined by my plasma of course :)

As a conclusion , I found this map very VERY fun and addictive ; but sad to say , can't put it into enough words to describe the detail and everything else about it to you , my fellow readers as it is pretty largish and all that . So what I'm suggesting is that you download this right away and have a look-see for yourself . And for the relatively small download size , I guess it's a must-try if only for them corridors i told ya about !
