I like this map. It’s very polished, deliberate, and it demonstrates the required attributes of a fine map. Good CTF maps have room to roam; you can pick this route or that, make some plans, but in the end when you get near the flag, it’s all about how good you are as a warrior. In other words, good CTF maps limit your options as you get closer to the flag and you have to rely more and more on your skills rather than the fact you lucked out when you took a vacant route. This map does that. But what adds a better twist to things is that your exit after you have the flag is limited more than your entrance. You can transport in close to the flag, but there’s no quick transport out, just guts! The highest fragger marquee seems to have a glitch in it. Some of the lettering was borked with my name.
I realize we’re all growing weary of the block this, and industrial that, but you can’t deny the fact that this map looks polished. Light boxes, and the lighting in general works well. The sounds weren’t just thrown around; I love that echo effect! The skybox could use a little work, but it’s not a big loss. The bots work very well; doing everything that are supposed to do: no laziness, good guarding, patrolling, sniping, nice teamwork. I played it with about 10, but it probably plays about right with 14 or so. You might need a quick PC in a few areas. Happy fragging. |

If I were unbiased I'd give it a ... 6?
First finished map, yes, had a few before it that didn't get done. I haven't mapped for any other game.
