In the middle is a open area, surrounded by some rocks and some buildings. There are a few walkways, a tower, and a few buildings to play in. Floorplan could have been better for DM, it would have been better if it would leave the player more possibility to think, some more connectivity and having the different areas flow better into each other. So gameplay suffers a bit from this, you also get stuck a little on a few places, or are just trapped in a 1 way in room. There is some Z fragging and you can swim a bit to pick up a redeemer. I didn`t really like the itemplacement, there are too many too strong items in this rather small map. Graphically the map is like the old DM Tundra, so no new lightning methods or other things such as texturing. The textures are quite heavy and contrastfull at times. And though there are always some lightsources, the sourcing of the light could have been defined better. But overall the graphics work, considering this map is more then 2 years old. Some unreal style colored light, and typical unreal buildings and sky. The same sounds were used as in DM-Tundra, which wasn't too bad at that time, but became a bit too `been there, done that` these days. In general it wouldn`t been bad if it was a bit more original for graphics, and using a bit better connectivity and better itemplacement. Tho considering this map is more then 2 years old it`s not too bad. If you like to play unreal styled maps, then you have an ok map here.

Mxtrmntr 12-17-2002 01:35 PM MST Rating: 5   it reminds me of some Unreal stuff (theme-wise especially of DM-Tundra, obviously), but it suffers from some flaws, especially concerning the lighting; also, neither the gameplay nor the graphics are really that great. all in all, rather average, but i'd really like to see some more maps with a snowy, dm-tundra-esque theme.
