This is not really a full review. I was just browsing through the NC3 database and i found DM-Dunamis and DM-Dunamis][.
I was the reviewer of AS-Dunamis, so i thought "what the h***", and checked both DM versions of said Assault map.
Since both are pretty much As-Dunamis, i HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go on and read the Assault review. I'll refer, however, on how this map behaves in DM, going from the assault version's score (5.5).
The only changes made to the DM map (apart from the prefix :D ), are the dissapearing trigger-levers (and respective blocking doors) and the attachers starting area. Virtually everything else is the assault map, and the only real editing to this might be the opportunity players now have to make that assault end-scene come true, and unleash upon their foes a deadly redeemer-explosive holocaust. That can be done by getting near the temple's idol-thingy (the final objective in the assault version). Then, all players have to run to the door-closing temple to escape apocalypse, or die. Since the holocaust trigger area is not that visited and stands inside the temple, wich one is already far from the usually frag place; you'll not have to worry too much about constant end-world sequences (BTW, 1 minute to groundzero).
The playability is adapted to the assault map-structure, wich means bad DM map. Well, not REALLY bad, as even the assault version was combat-enjoyable, but only in the city area. The temple and area around remains the same, even with the defensive posts full of diferent ammo.
BOTs didn't work very well at the temple grounds, but then again, neither will you.
Yep, this is an assault map. And although the idea of "porting" it to DM could be good, it was just an almost direct work that reflects in gameplay and flow. If you have ANY interest AT ALL in this map, you're likely to find the assault version great. For everyone else, this is not a good Deathmatch map.
AWE: same as assault, 2 BUILD: less 0.5 for the triggers = 1 CAST: less 1
Overall score: 4 |
