I find that DeCyber maps are a little hit and miss, they are always of high quality, but they don't always deliver on the action, this map is not an exception. Everyone should be familiar withthe work of M.C.Escher, and the peculiar impossibilities he presents, well, this map tries to recreate some of the neverending loops so abundant in his work. The layout is very well thought out, and the texturing and lighting is flawless, weapons and powerups seem a little too abundant though. The map relies heavily on creative portal usage, there are several places where you are walking into a portal that is facing the floor! Some portals actually cause a hall of mirrors effect, which is quite interesting. Where this map falls apart is the bot support and general flow of gameplay. Because of the many portals and discontinuities, the bots have a tendency to get stuck, also it is very easy to get caught in a loop and circle around and around endlessly, which is frustrating to say the least. This map would excel if the warp portal destinations were re-done, and if the level was turned into a domination map. One final note, for some peculiar reason, firing a rocket through the portals causes the trajector to curve!
This map is worthy of a look, but it doesn't really have the flow or feel of a truly great DM map. |

| David 'DAVIDM' Münnich | Rating: 10 | | The name of the author sez all!! It's decyber, It's by Ezkeel!!! It must be gawdlike!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
| Agent X | Rating: 4 | | If the UT Engine got portals to work properly, this could be good. But UT was apparently rushed to the stores before they could get portals working properly. A real shame, as some interesting maps could be made as a result.
| Lustmord | Rating: 6.5 | | I liked the original, and I like this. What it lacks in functionality it makes up for in playability.
| ayJay | Rating: 6.5 | | I haven't found a single map that makes me as *confuZed* as this one! It's a well-executed job ('cept for a weird purple room containing a sniper rifle and the Keg o' Health, which is a cube and just seems like an afterthought, and a seriously psychadelic room with a cross in it which is just- well, weird) except the bots just don't understand the portals. Not that I can blame them, cos I didn't either :)
