Please note: This is an old review, imported into our database. This is the newer of the two Darkzone maps. I am not sure whether the author is the same or not, but I don't like this map as much, all that is different is the texturing and lighting. The texture is more of a grey brick pattern over the red-brick, which is less monotonous, but also doesn't capture the feeling of the old Quake map as well. The most annoying part was the dynamic lighting around the transporters, which cast a shimmering glow on everything in sight, it's bright, distracting and kills the frame rate, which is a shame. And this is way you rate a redo,not all those flame comments I see around here.I rate a map on the merit it was built from,original ideas or map or a redo.or a newbie map.
