The map is very good for practicing shooting and moving/jumping and I think it's perfect for duels. And I really don't care are textures good or bad. THIS is the WORST map EVER. I know what I'm talking about... My first CTF map (which I did not release , was only for teh Blockiest Map Ever contest :) had about the same size , and 2-3 more brushes , yet it looked like a playable CTF map (3 ways to the flags including hammerjumping/bootjumping/translocating or using a 3 level elevator) , was lit quite well , carefully textured and at least had weapons and items (though their placement was wierd) and was fully botpathed. The size or shape of the map doesn't matter that much , it's the effort put in its design that makes it sucky or enjoyable. Yet this one could have been fun for a while if it was an "experimental map" and not a plain IG only one... Players who only try lowgrav instagib on this map are plain stupid , and don't know what kind of fun UT can bring to creative players (so please stfu about the map's "gameplay") : I tried adding random things in the horror map (negative bullet ammo , megajumpers and teleporting traps on redeemers) and played it w/ Hourences something like 30 freaking minutes , yep. Players could camp on their spawnpoint to use the enforcer while others don't have it , or try to telefrag/hammer ennemies. The redeemers are reachable to carefull and cunning players , as well as the top of the T brush (so it actually has a use !) Flag carriers can either drop the flag in mid air by translocating (like in Face) or crater near their base using aircontrol. Bots end up bumping on the flag kickers forever , or hammer passing players. THIS proves that only slight changes , and some originality would have made this "map" WAY more enjoyable to the noobs playing it online. Therefore , the map deserves a negative score for the damage it has done to the community. Don't think about giving it a positive one ! I dont want to start a discussion whether instagib or NW is better (although everyone knows NW sux), but in NW this map is terrible, cuz you got nothing but the crappy enforcer or hammer. In instagib however, you start with the most useful weapon ever, so you spawn and start fraggin. I noticed people with better skills always end up on top of the list, cuz they shoot the carriers and the n00bs dont. Just to let you know, someone ported this over to 2003 and the port was actually on some instagib ladders such as OGL (they just took it off though). The problem with the port is that there were no team spawn points. So, people spawned all over the place. This map was made just for IG. If you don't like IG then don't download it. The funny thing is that low scoring maps like this get a lot of play time on servers when some of the higher scoring maps get basically none. Some of you people reviewing go too much on graphics and not the fun factor. I give it a 3 because it does have some fun factor to it, but I rather play maps that have fun factor and good looks, which is a very rare combination. Stop judging the beautiful but not fun maps so high and stop giving the ones that have a least a little fun but ugly so low. It is on nearly every instagib map vote servers I have played on, plus from time to time, you'll find that everyone wants to play it, not coz it's good, but coz it is crazy and unpredictable and helps noobs to get a few more frags than they usually would on any other map and therefore they feel happy to do so! :) I like it every so often after playing around 10 other different CTF maps, but I could never play it constantly forever! Anyways, I'll give it a 5 out of 10 considering it is crap, but still a laugh at times! :) DaSniper 06-16-2003 03:54 PM MDT Rating: 9   They play this map on the server that I usually hang out at every so often...it's an awesome instagib multiplayer map (I haven't tried it without instagib though)...but the framerate is crap choppiness...though that may just be because almost there are almost always 24 players at the server (it's almost always one of the top five most populated CTF servers, usually #1)...and my dial-up modem is crap...
