Here we go again...
I reviewed this map some time ago, while the review was deleted with the sub3 maps this little beauty was not. If revenge is a dish served cold, this reviewer has had plenty of time to chill.
I remember such remarks as "The only thing remotely crypt like is me standing in the corner waiting for the 8ball to load-up enough to insure my own death",
and "Give me a break, it's a frickin' cube".
If you don't recall these, I will add more debasing comments now. This is in part to Quathwars re-review of DM-Tombs whose review also suffered the same fate as this map.
Hmmm... where to begin.
FUN-not
PLAY-yea the frames are high but spawning on a redeemer is extreme.
BOTs- pathed and yet, where's the difficulty pathing a box. They never grab the invisibility and not once did I see them go for the rifle on the box in the corner. Seams to me a few more player starts would fix that.
Flow- like where?
Items- you're kidding right? A redeemer blast typically clears the place, and who wants a chain saw when miniguns and shock rifles are to be had.
Theme- me dead, you dead, we all dead. Okay I'll give it that, but in the looks dept, well the preview screenshot gives that away.
Architecture- I need some help discribing it.
Textures- this is where this map sores, floor, cieling and walls are well chosen. The floor is the best part. I loaded this box with 16 bots just to see if I could cover the floor with gibs, slightly above the author's recommended max of 6.
Sound- can't touch what's not there.
So what do we say in closing?
Why do I still have this on my HD? Sorry, but look at other maps that have the scores you are aiming for before shooting off your map. I'm hurting the most for having to do this twice. Next, the return of DM-KingOfMyCastle. I know, you can't wait.
