| Sir Xavius 01-05-2006 01:51 PM MST | Rating: 5 | | Quite the strange map, with no implied storyline within the architecture or layout, and the coloring and lighting is rather unusual.
If you like tight maps, you'll LOVE this, as Creek has no real open areas (altho it has one or two big rooms). The layout is kinda mazy, so you may get lost for the first few fights. I didn't like the layout of the weapons or the goodies, and some of the objects that hang from the ceilings can get in the way of movement. The flow is disappointing, not only because of the map layout, but also because of the weapon/ammo distribution and the interruption of water and gooage in strange places.
I did bump it to a 5.0 instead of 4.0 because of a couple of secrets in this map and lots of places to explore. Overall though, i took it out of my rotation because i abhor tight maps with no open areas to hide (if that makes sense), and i prefer more z-axis and less mazy maps. I'm sure, however, this kind of map appeals to some players, so it's not totally devoid of playability. I'd keep the players to less than 12, though.
