Please note: This is an old review, imported into our database. Mike's done a pretty nice job with this conversion of the UT Flyby sequence (by Shane Caudle), but as he points out in his install program, it's only about 1/2 done. This first part keeps the flavor of the flyby, while providing some DM fun that you couldn't previously enjoy. Forgetting for the moment that the entire 'Liandri' half of the map is inaccessible, there are a couple of problems with this conversion. First, getting to the Redeemer and invisibility, located along the monorail track, is exceedingly difficult, too much so to make either of these items ones with impact in the normal course of a DM. There's also the matter of one very high sniping palace, which will be much easier to deal with from the ground than it is to get to (read: after all that trouble of getting up there, you're not going to stay long...). One thing this level does have going for it, and will have more of when it's complete, is room. Lots and lots of room. I'm talking, don't even bother with less than 10 players, unless you're into hunting. The full version will likely require as many players as the server can stand. Bots perform poorly in this level, BTW, but it'll eventually make a nice online map. Mike's done many good things in several games (Tribes, Kingpin), and while this is an interesting conversion, and will be more so when he gets around to finishing the second half, it's pretty much a diversion right now. You might want to download this just to take a look at it, as it is a nice looking, fast-paced cityscape. I'm more interested in the original stuff Mike will no doubt come up with. |

| Shao 07-21-2003 07:18 PM MDT | Rating: 5 | | This Map isn't Great especially if you play with Bots. The Bots will always stay in their position until you come beside them and so they can kill you. Will some Bots are like that But others are really intelligent.

| GRed (V)èg@ 11-20-2003 03:24 PM MST | Rating: 2 | | I was intrige by the scores and downloaded this map hoping it would bring some action imagining how cool it would be to play on the intro map of the game, all the author did is just add weapons and player starts thats about it, he could take his time to add some stairs or elevators to some of the buildings, the map gets boring cus the bots aint moving at all the place wasn't pathed at least he could done that. I might as well try city 2 since this one is an early version.
