When I first saw the title of this map I was excited, I was hoping for an exciting battle in the Bespin Cloud City from the Star Wars universe. What I got was quite a shock. DM-Bespin is an orbital mining station, and as a map it is a mixed bag. My first impressions have stuck with me somewhat, when I first saw the map I thought that the blue-grey metallic texture on the walls was overused. It isn't my favourite texture as it is very busy, and in this case it kills the map. The lighting in Bespin is okay, most of it is white and fairly bright, but there are a few shadows to keep it interesting, I do think that lens flares and coronas were used excessively. Before I go much further I should give some mention to the layout. The layout is odd. There is a large room from which everything else stems, and from this room you can walk around storage areas, air locks, and other spacey things, all of which are plain (But the map runs fast!) From the air locks, you can access the underside of the station which is low gravity and truly bizarre. Under the station there is a two level catwalk, and to the side of that are a series of large square platforms with purple ligthning shafts passing through the centre (With large coronas of course). I don't understand them, and I found not much action happened on them.

Another major problem I had was with the door sizing, I found the doors to be a touch too small, and quite often got caught up, the bots got caught in a few similar place too. Overall, this map is playable but not a keeper, but most importantly it shows a lot of promise from the author. I hope to see his future works on NC.

I have seen worse, A LOT worse. This in no way deserves a zero score. Low grav is kinda fun.
