This is a visually stunning level, also a completely unique concept which was probably a little too ambitious. The level is a tiny asteroid drifting through space, which has been mined to allow a station to be built within. The first thing I noticed about the asteroid, was how good the rock looks, Julebakst has a talent for natural surfaces, as shown in his spectacular map DM-AncientSouls. The base is fairly simple in layout; there are several communication spires and towers and a landing pad above the base which has stairs leading down onto the asteroids surface. The inside of the base is a strange circular room with a teleporter in the centre that sends you to the top of the toroidal tower, high above the action, and a corridor leads from the transporter room to a docking bay and loading zone. Outside the base, the gravity is low, so lots of big jumps and long range Flak shells are in order. Gravity is normal inside the base, and the interface is a forcefield style airlock executed very well. Another feature which I though was excellent is the circular main room of the base protrudes out of the rock in places and blends in perfectly. The author not only knows UEd, but is obviously adept at 3DSMax. Bot support is very good, and weapon placement is fine. The sniper rifle is a little odd, to get to it, you have to ride the landing platform up, and use it to catapult yourself higher than you could normally jump. The sniping position is wonderful, although, after going to that much trouble, I would like to see a bit more shelter so you can claim a few heads first.
On to the bad things... The poly count is fairly high, so it does slow from time to time, but not too much. Large areas and low gravity do not really mix, I found the action quite slow outside the rock, and that disappointed me. Another huge gripe I had was the ugly texturing on the transporter, no matter how you justify it, a moving fluid texture should not be on a wall! Overall I enjoy this level a lot, definitely worthy of a download, and a very ambitious project. 10/10 for uniqueness and the concept, 8/10 for the execution, 6.5 for the map, because the speed of the fragging outdoors is too slow for my tastes.

| BarfLung | Rating: 7 | | Okay map to play but mish-mash of areas. Use Volatile Ammo for the best fun. Sniper rifle well placed. Mind you - haven't played it in ages now...
| Lustmord | Rating: 7 | | Good fun. Especially with instagib. Whoo hoo!
