AWE: 1 What we have here is a DM-Morpheus meets CTF-High style of map where ghimmick exists (somewhat) but spectacularity doesn't. The theme is very reminiscent of CTF-High: tall buildings in construction where competitors fight to death, overlooking the city. The Morpheus catch is the building's position inbetween each, and the "interactivity" of them (kinda...). That said, the map feels bland, dark-ish and uninteresting - texture work (usuall city texture of brick, concrete, etc) and lighting (mostly washed out whites; and some unsourced ones) greatly contributing for this matter.
Architecture follows the same path, but there are some (few) redeeming details, like some breached walls, concrete pillars and steel grates around, or the lovely working fans at a wall. Unfortunately, as a whole it isn't strong enough to stick.
BUILD: 1 Ambient sounds are there, adding to the (poor) ambience, and soundtrack is UT-default - meaning, boredom to your hear. Brush-work for details is nice, but overall map construction is simple and blocky, and so, much could have been done to improve.
CAST: 1 Being the simplistic kind, the map doesn't offer too much a struggle to common PCs, and thus FPS keep good. Although simple and open, flow suffers incredibly with the dubious layout and some BOT "stucking-behaviour" on some selected places.
Item placement runs average, with the usuall distribution of weapons and scatered ammo. There's even a Redeemer in a delicate place if you are the dancer type.
Overall, gameplay stay true to the map's other banners: boring and linear. |

| [Dark-JaXx] 07-02-2004 07:10 AM MDT | Rating: 5 | | Archi is a bit simple evrywhere, but I like the lightning in the buildings! Gameplay is a bit the same as DM-Morpheus, but he has not the flair and originality of it. Hum..next time have more inspiration then this one.
