What a nice map this is. The more I checked it out, the more I liked it. You’ll need the SGTech1 textures to play this 6-12-player effort if you don’t already have the package.
The map has a hint of an industrial look to it, with the city lights looming in the background. There is a good combination of base and detailed texturing used, with geometry being trimmed out in places and a subtle offering of glass and grating.
You’ll find lots of height changes, so expect z-axis battles and there’s a swimming hole with a kegger at the other end. Stairs, lifts and ramps (one which resembles a rope bridge) will help to move you about, and during your journey you’ll find a rather good supply of weapons, ammo and health.
I like the flow of the map and its overall feel and appearance. A few things that I noticed that could have been improved on were the following: You can see the stars through the moon, the bots were getting stuck just a little in the water after they grabbed the kegger, the lifts were set to return after 4 seconds, and the lift mover properties were not set up correctly. I like lifts that return quickly if I’m in pursuit of an opponent, and I should remark that even though the lift properties weren’t set up, I did see a bot us one successfully, so this is probably a moot point. The only other thing I would have done differently is to make my light fixture appear brighter as if they were on, but I’ve seen epic maps with dull fixtures as well.
To end on a good note, the negative items I mentioned were trivial. It is a good map and I had fun playing it, especially with the bots that did so well.

| Sir Xavius 08-17-2005 12:39 PM MDT | Rating: 5.5 | | I agree with Jez: tight movement, too tight for my liking ( i like to retreat to big open areas). The only open place i could find was the L-ledge near the creaky wooden bridge. It's not the best place to camp, but at least it looks down on everything, and there are rockets nearby.
Decent map though.
