| Gnome and Sapper 05-20-2005 03:51 PM MDT | Rating: 3.5 | | Map Name: CTF-2flags Author: OLD_MAN Suggested Players: 12+ As reviewed by Satyrkarma.
Difficulty: ++ The design and layout is pretty staright forward. Once I found the Redeemer, it was a pretty simple matter of carrying it the the flag room, blowing up everyone in it, and then making of with the flag. With only one spawn point near the flag and such a large area to chase an enemy over, it's a pretty easy play.
Environment: + Lacking somewhat in creativity with the use of standard textures and 'blocking' left me bored after a few minutes. No blackground sound effects to compliment the lake also left me with a very unrealistic feeling. The music choice also seemed out of place.
Bots: ++++ I am impressed with the bot paths and AI laid down for this map. After the first one or two flag captures, it was clear the the bots started using which routes I used so as to increase their chance of running into me and blowing me to pieces. Greatly improved the challenge factor, and do to the sheer size of the map, it was important to run into enemies as often as possible.
Placement: + Ammo depots consisted of all types of ammo clumped together with appropriate weapons nearby. Having to actually go a find a weapon after to have all the ammo left me somewhat annoyed.
Awe Factor: + This map, like so many others, is too big for it's own good. Without custom texures, music, sounds, and creativity, it's just a boring map.
Overall: 9/25 - 36%
