Frag at the Academy, where Nali go to school. Like many maps, this one has its pros and cons. The scaling needs attention to some degree. Lockers are too big when you walk up to them, and the whole place seems like it needs a little scaling down. If the place was smaller, you would lose some of the large playing area that you have now, but it would allow for more stuff. I think the author was trying to keep a balance between poly counts and eye candy and it’s difficult to do when you work with a large, open map. If it was a little smaller, more stuff could have been added in the rooms to make the gaming experience more enjoyable.
I think the item placement was rather decent. You had to really work for weapons and the really good weapons were in short supply. The theme was consistent and anyone who has ever attended school will appreciate the lockers, urinals, and the school gymnasium. The school even has a swimming pool with a very robust diving board that will spring you to new heights. The bots did their job as well, which helped the gameplay considerably. Keep an eye out for hidden doorways.
A few of the textures were a little funky, but nothing too outrageous and some custom textures were included in the download for chalkboard diagrams and whatnot. You’ll want to play with maybe 10 or more, since you have quite a bit of room to spread out. It’s a fun map to play and the longer you frag the more you find to do.
