Note: This is an old review, imported into our database.

This is a fairly large map that was obviously inspired by DM-Deck16. It is nothing new or original, and runs very slowly because of high poly counts. There really is not much I can say, the architecture and lighting are average, the bots run well, but are by no means awe inspiring. There are a few very nice touches, such as the spiral ramp between level one and two, the big fish tank, and the lift that takes you to the redeemer via a lava tunnel, but they are gimmiky. The level flows quite well, but the frame count ruins that. One final thing that really got on my nerves was the inclusion of the Enhanced Shock Rifle. I don't think that the weapon should be used any time except an insta-gib match. Overall, the map is worth downloading, but whether or not you keep it is up to you!

For all you editor students, use this map to figure stuff out.It has alot a features of the editor to learn from, but new mappers check it out for sure.
I rate it an 8 because it is a very good example of editor features. The author is ..... Æon And ÐarKHunteR

Just look at whats in it,use a keen eye, youl see what I mean, has ALOT of examples for alot of things.

Skyzone,
Slimezone,
Lavazone,
Waterzone,
Cloudzone,
and zoning,
Masked texture for mover,
Slime suite,
Good brushwork,
Different velocity jumpads and angles,
See through floor window and see ammo in slimezone,
Several kinds of dynamic lights,
Colored lights,
Aquarium with pawn actors,
Deco actors,
Billboards,
A smooth spiral staircase,
Triggered movers,
Bump movers,
Mover sounds,
Carved out areas for mover and mover tracks,
Shows light sources,
Movers with more than 2 keyframes,
Rotating move keyframes,
A mover you can get inside,
Triggered lights,
Tranclucent moving texture,
Flashing texture,
Those rotating fans deco,
The rockets don't hit the sky,
Fog in the slimezone,
Correct jump hieghts,
Ambient sounds,
3 scoreboards 2 of wich you can see from bottom through floor window, also a dynamic light right above one for depicting the yellow letters moving by,wich means use of special lit-dynamic light texture combo,
The rocks in the aquarium, and the slotted beams,
and all the bot pathing navigation liftexits etc etc.

And other mapping details to learn.screw the looks for now, thats not the point if a new mapper used this map each item is a lesson in itself.

All I can say is I wish I had this map around when I was learning the editor.
If one masterd all of the above functions, you can't argue they would have learned alot from ONE map.
And I am not refering to the looks, or the gameplay, while scoring this map an 8.

And these so called other better learning example maps, prove it !!,I'll pick them apart so bad and prove you wrong.

ADD,this level is still very respectable in my opinion, it is not that bad for gameplay either, mabye 6 players be about right.

No readme file included. Good start...

Looks: Plain horrible. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Almost makes your eyes bleed. Choice of textures: downright bad.
Choice of colours: insanely bad. Washed out, bland, too strong.
Architecture is rather dull as well. I don't see what makes this level so intriguing. I've seen a hell of lot maps so don't think I'm a noob who doesn't know what he's talking about.

It sure is gimmicky, agree with the review.

I'll comment later on the gameplay bit. Couldn't stand the fuglyness of this thing so I had to quit.
I'll load some bots and see how they perform.
For now I'm rating this a 4.

Redfist: It seems you have trouble accepting other people's point of view. Good luck in real life with this attitude, amigo.
Hopefully you'll grow out of it though.

I've read the entire list of what makes this map so special and tbh you can find most in other maps as well. Like Nahand said, there are better examples.

Nothing special, really. Nothing special about this map.

It's quite messy as well. No real structure :-/

All those points are all old news to me, but even if the points might be good, placing every one in a map doesn't make it a good map. I'd call it medium mapping tricks and all those "special" movers: yawn.

Just because a map has lots of things in it, doesnt mean it is a good map.
