I really don't have a clever or witty way to begin here. While this is a gimmick map and has lots of problems (several addressed in the ][ version) I'm sure some people will really love this map and some people will absolutely despise it. Why? Read on.


The premise is as follows: Two fairly open flag bases, connected ONLY by a massive teleporter accessible only by the launch ramps. Two big problems here, one of which Rev. Billy G cleared up: The bots sometimes bounce up and down on the launchers, but have gotten better about it. Second major problem is the camping factor. I found, even against my LANmates, that I could camp by the landing spot with the flak and just tear them to shreds consistently. The rare person that managed to escape the hot flak barrage was so weakened that they couldn't cap. This problem could take a major step toward being solved if the flak cannon was just removed.


Some other things gave me pause: The coronas are large and in charge. I usually play seriously with major details like that *off*, but lots of players don't. I mentioned the bases are open; they're also fairly small. Billy G recommends 8, which is a decent number; more than that and it's a cluttered, crowded spamfest. The lighting didn't do it for me, though the ambient sound was well done. Texturing was hit and miss; on the whole, it's not a very attractive level. Flow and item placement is kind of a moot point, since the only raised areas are the flag platform, the launch ramps and the eye itself. Polys hit around 250, which isn't too bad at all.


An interesting concept, to say the least, but not one of my favorites. Check out CTF-TheEye][ for an improved map.

This is an Ok map. I reviewed it somewhere previously but the novelty has worn off from then to now :D

I love this map it's great to play on 3*3 my clan (.r0x!) use this map for 3*3 Fun Wars/Wars. :P
