| Slim 01-25-2005 12:02 PM MST | Rating: 7 | | I must say, this is one of the more enjoyable maps I've played. I have played th eother two Riverbeds now and, well they don't hold a candle to this one. It's also one of a few maps that seems to have fairly good architecture throughout although there's room for improvement. Bots could do better too...
Quick Overview (what I originaly wrote all them years ago)
You start off on a, beach sort of thingy, and need to get into the base - which can be tough because its a snipers heaven... there is cover though which is damn good. Once inside the bade you must destroy a door compressor wossname to blow open the door. On your travels through the caverns into the rest of the complex you must plant a bomb to open another door, this bit can be hard as hell too but there are many rooms and corridoors here full of weapons, ammo and health so it shouldn't be much of a problem. When the deed is done you have to make your way across the riverbed (at least I think its a riverbed... I figured that was the idea anyway)... this can be real hard as there are mortars landing in about three spots... one sport is right next to some ammo. And this is the worst part of the map IMO... a bot path runs straight over this ammo cache, so you'll often find three or four will head over it only to be blown to smeg by a mortar. Towards the other end of this cavern, is the goal. A fort of sorts, which can be the biggest barstard to get into... the defending bots are damn good here but the attacking bots are weak. Its quite easy to get to this point but hard to get past it and send the commnications. Once you do send it though the ending is, well, sort of good. It shows a few tanks in the first tunnel - your reinforcements have arrived!
In places the map is well built and designed, in others its lacking. Its big but not heavy on the polygon count though which is a bonus for slower computers, and the time limit is relatively well balanced.

| kingmango 05-20-2004 08:59 PM MDT | Rating: 9 | | This map is great. One of the best custom AS maps. To win you need to use advanced movements to outwit the defenders. Make friends with some clan players and practice with them, then the design of this map will be fully appreciated. Grz is at the top of the AS mapping game and he makes his maps with careful planning to allow knowledgable assaulters to take routes that are not as obvious to lesser skilled players. This is a must in every map design. It is a reward for your hard work in learning the ins and outs of a map.

DL it if you dont' already have it. Then go to TheGameBox's custom map AS server and try it online. Spec some people and learn the tricks.
