AWE: 2.5
Wow, where do I begin? This map could spark a story of its own. Fluid mirrors, vegetation including a lonely tree, torches, and swaying shadows. The cobble-stone like arches and trim meshes look authentically medieval. The vines creeping their way out of the courtyard, the bits of grass and tree roots sticking out. I'm feeling all tingley just typing about it.

Texturing is good, the author included several textures in the myLevel pack, which is mostly seen being the stone and brick work. Meshes are textured good as well. Nothing out of place or sloppily aligned. All fits the dark eerie mood of the map.

Lighting is absolutely great, though the courtyard may appear to have a bit many coronas. Large toches light most of the way, with the sky adding a bluish ochre by the windows in the hallways. And of course I have to mention the swinging lantern, which the shadow follows the swinging motion. It'll make you stop and look wide eyed at the first time you see it. Real nice work with it.

BUILD: 2.5
The torches have their say here, crackling away as you crack open skulls. The main basic architecture is built by BSP, with the static meshes almost soley for decoration, which is executed very well. The liquified mirror teleports have to be the coolest teleports I've seen. If you watch close enough, you can see see the spot in which you will be teleported to. Finally the skybox has that great late sunset look to it. With a little bit of red/orange in one direction that fades to the dark blue of Sandman's realm.

CAST: 2.5
Firstly, there have been some complaints about this map running a bit slow. I didn't have any problems, even on my low-end computer, (psst, it's ok to turn down some detail for better gameplay). Anyways, the bots had no trouble navigating the map, nor putting up a good fight. While the areas around the courtyard may not have the lot of furious action as the courtyard itself, battles will still spark. Halls that allow for long to medium range attacks be suited for the shock rifle, and stairwells that allow you to drop down pump your enemy full of flak.

Item placement is great, plenty of weapons to grab, but not too close together. Health generators sparsed about to keep you on the move when in need, and no over abundance of vials that let you stock up well past 100. The map flows like beer at Oktober Fest, no dead-ends, everything is connected to the courtyard, and the teleports that allow you to quickly get to the other side.

SCORE: 7.5
An excellent map, with plenty of room for 6. A must for great atmosphere, gameplay, and your rotation. Nice work UnXceptable.

Although this map makes an attempt to be visually interesting there are some performance issues.

Again the use of meshes re: engine load appears to be a problem. I identified a couple of places in the map which could have used zoning, antiportals or collision detection/hulls around the meshes (whatever; I'm not a mapper or an expert).

Definitely needs optimisation in my opinion.....
........the magic mirror is quite good though.

Additional comment: Why is this called a 1/1 map when the default player load is three and the scale of the map dictates a higher player load?

Over-the-top lighting, great atmosphere, great meshwork, good gameplay, a tiny collision error on the upper ramps (hehe). The only fault is maybe that it repeats the long 30degree-ramps too much.
But overall a GREAT step forward from 1on1-dawn. (which was the original,2k3 version)
Recommended!

Good looking map, but it plays like a bit of a dog. You need to optimize it some more. My gf4 ti card couldn't keep up the fps..sorry.

Cool map, havent played it against bots yet, but the visual style seems to be alright, maybe the swinging light can react to shots ?

and besides, no performance problems here,

even jumping and shooting trough the lightplace, the fps stays above 100 fps , at 1600 1200 every as high as possible :P, the garden in the mid of the map seems to be the heaviest load to my computer, fps dropping to a minor 70 :P, sometimes it reaches 250

i have 3.2 Ghz P4 Prescott, 1 gig DDR466 dual channel, overclocked Geforce Fx5900 (NOT THE bad XT version)

Heh, I didn't realize the mirrors were teleports at first until I chased a bot through one. :B

Runs to slow for me,its another meshed to death level, hard to diferentiate between bots or map.
Has some cool things in it but not practical for DM.
All these eyecandy maps are just that
I will give credit to the mesh creation but to much clutter.
Playing DM since quake1

shao,, ya ya he made a frickin mirrored warpzone whoopy.this map is a mess.stays a 3

shao shao shao you sure put on a big show show show.

Very awesome map. Looks great. Plays great.

To Redfist: If you distictly hate UT2k4, as you've so blatantly shown in your posts and hate of all static meshes, why don't you uninstall it, give it a home in your trash bin and stop bitching? Geez, some people..

Good visuals, but bad layout. It should be more complex. And Waht I don't like the most are the long ramps. But still, now bad. Definitely should be on everyones hardrive.

Oh, and next time, put every weapon in. The map may not look like all weapons are needed, but they usually are. And even if the author does not like all weapons, others might do. So, include them.

Redfist was due for retirement YEARS ago, but swearin' at the guy won't do any good. He USED to be cool, back in his Planet Unreal days, if I recall correctly.

Note to Redfist: Dude you have to stop bitching and moaning about stupid things. Like whether a map has a lot of meshes or terrain. If you want BSP then dig out Unreal Tournament and remove UT 2004 from your computer. Very simple, and you'll probably be happier. Otherwise learn to appreciate the simple fact that a level DOES NOT have to have a set amount of static meshes, or terrain, or ANYTHING to be good. It simply has to be enjoyable in some fashion or another - whether playability or from an artistic sense. Learn to appreciate some maps for what they are - art. You'll be a far happier person with more enlightenment in your life.

Concerning the map well I'm downloading it so no score yet - may edit his later with some comments.
