Edit: When this map was originally reviewed, the reviewer failed to mention that it is, for all intents and purposes, a CTF-DiamondSword clone; the score has been changed by us to reflect this fact, though the original review follows.
Yet another space station for CTF, however... CTF-Nitrogen Sun offers a remarkable usage of texturing and superb architecture to create a unique atmosphere worthy of map of the week. It is made with one long platform of three layers, joining two huge towers surrounded by endless masses of space.
Although a simple idea, the author has created a high quality map. The main features are the two large tower bases at either end. This balances the map and both towers boast a variety of defensive points for tactical play. They both are connected by a three-layered platform, which has been constructed masterfully to look incredibly real. This adds effect to the towering monstrosities, which also can prove to be ingeniously textured to give the map character. As it is a simple yet effective layout, gameplay proves to be extremely fun but quite simple. The most impressive piece of this map on the other hand, is the Nitrogen Sun, where the map got its name. i am aware that the author was able to make full use of a NASA photograph of our own Sun. I must compliment the author on their ability to modify this texture into another high quality background.
As this map has already shown me how well it has been made and how much fun it is to play, it is hard to mark down. However, it can produce high poly counts when sniping or viewing from the higher platforms in the towers. Another aspect to be thought of is that the map is quite easy to play and win. An improvement would be to make the tower slightly more difficult to overcome to represent a challenge when playing.
Well, apart from the two bad points, the map is outstanding and is well worth downloading. In my opinion, if you like CTF-Face, then you'll love CTF-Nitrogen Sun.

| rbanzai | Rating: 1 | | Although the graphic of the "nitrogen sun" is very cool this map is in almost all respects a rip-off of the excellent CTF-DiamondSword. I e-mailed this comment in a long time ago hoping that the review score would be lowered appropriately for a shameless copy of someone else's quality work. If for some reason NitrogenSun came first (but was just posted later on Nali City) then reverse my comments and lower the score for DiamondSword.
| Lophead | Rating: 3 | | The lighting is horrible, way too gaudy. Not a keeper.
